"Bachelor Gus" is the second segment of the forty-fifth episode of Recess.
Synopsis[]
Gus moves into 'Ol Rusty at school after overhearing his parents' unfortunate plans to move again.
Plot[]
While playing in his room, Gus overhears his parents discussing something having to do with him. When he hears "Operation Relocation", Gus believes that it means that he is moving away again and solemnly tells his friends about it. Rather than go along with it, Gus decides to move into the jungle gym, confusing the Gang. After seeing him pathetically trying to make himself at home, they decide to help him out and soon all the other kids chime in as well, turning the jungle gym into Gus' new bachelor pad. When everybody leaves for the night, T.J. can sense that Gus is frightened, but is hiding it as he heads home too.
As Hank shuts off the power to the school for the evening, Gus becomes frightened and panics, while at home T.J. overhears his mother talking to Gus's mom over the phone. Gus flees from the jungle gym in a panic and suddenly runs into his parents who were out looking for him. When he tells him what he heard, they explain that they were not talking about moving away, but rather that they would be moving his bedroom to a bigger room. Realizing that everything was a misunderstanding, Gus happily returns home with his parents. He asks his dad how he knew he was there and he tells him that he has a good "commanding officer", as T.J. watches that Gus safely returned home.
