The Bat Eyewitness is a deleted character in Disney's 2016 animated feature film Zootopia. He was going to appear in the film, but was cut in the final version of the film.
Background[]
Not much of this bat's personality aside from his duty being an eyewitness (hence his name). He is a stout bat with brown fur all around his body, a small wingspan, a blue sleeveless shirt with a bat symbol marked on it, and a pair of olive green shorts.
Development[]
The bat eyewitness was going to appear in the film as evidenced in The Art of Zootopia book, but was cut from the final version of the film[1]. Despite being deleted from the final version of the film, he somehow ended up being released as an action figure with Clawhauser, which could imply that this character was to be affiliated with the ZPD before he was cut from the final version of the film.
Trivia[]
- The bat eyewitness is one of the characters from Zootopia who did not appear in the final version of the film but somehow ended up being released in merchandise - particularly in action figure sets, such as the one with Clawhauser.
- Another character who did not appear in the final version of the film but ended up being released in toy form was the safety squirrel.
- If the bat eyewitness appeared in the final version of the film, he would have been the first bat to physically appear in the Zootopia franchise.
