This article is about the upcoming TV show. For the character, see here.
The new series follows the loveable titular robot and his ongoing adventures outside the superhero team, working as a nurse around San Fransokyo, while trying to catch a orange kitty cat.
With the focus on Baymax and the Hamada family of Hiro and Aunt Cass, Hiro's friends won’t appear in the series.
Baymax! has the distinction of being the first television series to be produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Previous animated TV series based on Disney’s animated films have been produced by Disney Television Animation and other divisions.
This will also make Big Hero 6 the seventh Disney franchise/film to have more than one television series based on the films of the franchise itself, the first six being The Jungle Book (TaleSpin and Jungle Cubs), Lilo & Stitch (which has three of them; Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Stitch!, and Stitch & Ai), The Lion King (Timon & Pumbaa and The Lion Guard), Winnie the Pooh (which has four of them; Welcome to Pooh Corner, The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Book of Pooh, and My Friends Tigger & Pooh), One Hundred and One Dalmatians (101 Dalmatians: The Series and 101 Dalmatian Street), and Alice in Wonderland (Adventures in Wonderland and Alice's Wonderland Bakery).
