Be Our Chef is a reality cooking competition show exclusive to the Disney+ streaming platform. It premiered on the service on March 27, 2020 and is hosted by actress Angela Kinsey. The show's title is based on the Be Our Guest song from Beauty and the Beast.
Each episode of the show features two families that compete to see which one of them can make the best dish based on a character they have met in each of their visits at Walt Disney World, where they get inspiration on what to prepare. Each character they meet gives them hints on what apparently they like to eat. After their visits, they meet in the kitchen where Kinsey gives the families 60 minutes to prepare and make a dish. Each episode has a "Garden Game", where a family can win a golden Magic Spoon to receive an option of either extra time, extra help, putting the other team in time out, or putting the choice in their hands, aka a "special wish advantage".
After the challenge is over, a chef from a restaurant in Disney World determines which dish is the best, and the winning team of each challenge gets a chance to win a Disney Cruise Line vacation to the Bahamas, as well as a chance for their dish to be served in a restaurant in the Disney Parks.
|Episode||Challenge based on||Family #1||Dish #1||Family #2||Dish #2||Winner|
|Bibbidi Bobbidi Bon Appetit||Cinderella||Merrill||Cinderella's Midnight Snack: Grilled cheese sandwich inspired by pumpkin that transforms into Cinderella's carriage, which is a bowl with tomato soup all served on a glass plate inspired by her glass slipper.||Robbins||Gus Gus' Hash: Hash browns topped with an egg inspired by Gus Gus wanting to make Cinderella a breakfast after her ball.||Robbins|
|Diagnosis: Delicious||Big Hero 6||Platt||Mochi-Max: Designed like an ice cream sandwich with chocolate mochi for bread shaped like Baymax's head and avocado ice cream sweetened with honey, with a side of raspberry coulis inspired by Baymax's armor. The overall dish was inspired by San Fransokyo, the city the film takes place in.||Wells||Microbot Tart: Dark chocolate tart with strawberries and cream inspired by Baymax's overall white color and also his red armor. The strawberries also represent the Microbots that would transform into anything, as they appear normal/cut up on the tart, in small pieces on the plate, and also in a 3D strawberry flower form.||Platt|
|Hidden Within||Mulan||Perez||Firecracker Fried Rice: Fried rice that was at first hidden in a bell pepper with drops of soy sauce surrounded on the plate, inspired by Mulan finding her "inner warrior" (which also was the main idea of the episode's challenge).||Merrill||Hidden Warrior: In the style of Mulan's breakfast in the film, slightly modified with egg foo young encased with meat and flour, with rice and bacon and sweet and sour sauce.||Merrill|
|Curiouser and Curiouser||Alice in Wonderland||Robbins||The Queen of Hearts' Chocolate Raspberry Tarts: Tarts in the shape of hearts topped with strawberries, with the top of the plate being decorated like raspberry is oozing downwards. On the right is a regular chocolate tart, while the left tart is spicy, which represents the "firey" side of her when she gets angry.||Perez||Mad Hatter's Macha Tea-Cup-Cake: A cupcake in a teacup with green streamer pieces that were used to make "green tea", topped with sprinkles, an ace card, a green candle, and raspberry icing, inspired by the Mad Hatter at Magic Kingdom talking to the family about "ketchup on cake".||Robbins|
|Beyond the Reef||Moana||Merrill||Kakamora's Catch of the Day: A Broiled
lobster tail, with zucchini as a sail and seasoned with salt, pepper and smoked paprika. On the left, a stuffed flank steak representing the Kakamora, filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. Served with a homemade pico.
|Wells||Wayfinder's Canoe: Deep fried sweet
potato boat, with fried fish and bacon on a bed of dried seaweed, served with an avocado, onion, pineapple relish. The avocado is the Heart of Tefiti and the red cayenne pepper represents Te-Ka, which was Tefiti before she received her heart back.
|Slimy Yet Satisfying||The Lion King||Perez||Saucy yet Satisfying: Pork stuffed with red pepper, spinach, onions and carrot, served with red sauce. Inspired by the greens and flowers of the park and Rafiki's red powder when blessing Simba.||Platt||Safari so good: A shakshuka made with tomatoes, peppers, onions, cucumbers. Mixed in to not resemble vegetables. Covered with a sunny side up egg, and served with flatbread to dip it in.||Platt|
|Anyone Can Cook||Ratatouille||Wells||Critic's Choice Cut: Hamburger cooked in a red wine reduction, with mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach underneath. Topped with sauteed onions and mushrooms to represent a chef hat, Remy was always underneath.||Perez||Not Your Remy's Ratatouille: A ratatouille inspired by grandma's recipe, made with zucchini, bell pepper, onions and a tomato base sauce. Seasoned with Cuban spices like cayenne pepper and flambeed with cheese because it's Remy's favourite.
|Worth Melting For||Frozen||Platt||Snowflake Float: Blueberry float with a lemon sherbet and a sherbet cookie decorated with royal icing on top, that says 'Let it Go.'||Merrill||Sven's Sweet Treat: White chocolate chip cookie whipped cream sandwich, with Sven's face on it, with a side of candied blueberries and whipped cream covered strawberries representing Anna's frozen heart.||Platt|

Served in a mini bathtub based off of Mama Odie's bathtub that she used to cook Gumbo.||Wells|
