"Be Still My Harp" is the second segment of the seventh episode of the Disney Channel animated series, Kiff.
Synopsis[]
Barry gets stuck in a harp that causes anyone who hears it to get trapped in their memories.
Plot[]
In the AV closet at school, Kiff and Barry are about to watch a movie. Barry wants to watch something new, but Kiff opts for another viewing of Chubbles Wubbington!, as the movie reminds her of all the fun times she has had watching it with Barry. While watching the movie, Barry accidentally falls backwards onto a harp and gets entangled in its strings. Kiff uses a wagon to bring the harp, with Barry still stuck in it, to the hospital. While Kiff stays in a waiting room, Dr. Lyon tries to pull Barry out of the harp. The friction between Barry's body and the harp's strings creates a pleasant melody, and upon hearing the melody, Lyon suddenly remembers his wedding day and gets stuck in a trance.
Next, Kiff takes the harp to Miss Deer Teacher's classroom and asks for her help. Kiff then notices the Chubbles Wubbington! DVD still playing in the AV closet and leaves the room to watch it. As Miss Deer Teacher pulls Barry, she becomes entranced by the same melody and remembers performing stand-up comedy at an open mic night. Realizing what is happening, Barry calls Kiff back into the classroom and explains that the harp is trapping people in their memories.
As Martin has a bad memory, Kiff asks him to pull Barry out. Martin initially escapes the harp's effects, but he then makes small talk about how his memory was better in his "trivia days" and ends up trapped in a memory of one of his trivia nights. Kiff next tries dousing the harp in oil to make Barry slide out, but the oil instead drips onto the wagon and causes it to slide uncontrollably down the road. The wagon eventually reaches downtown Table Town, exposing everyone there to the sound of the harp.
Kiff runs after the wagon and arrives downtown, where she is horrified to see everyone except Barry stuck in a trance. She notices someone holding a pair of earphones, so she puts them on and plugs them into her phone, then plays heavy metal music to drown out the harp while she tries to pull Barry out herself. However, Kiff unintentionally makes the phone's virtual assistant play an album of harp music. In a panic, she pulls out the earphones, causing her to hear the actual harp in front of her. Now entranced, Kiff finds herself in her memory of watching Chubbles Wubbington! for the first time with Barry in the AV closet two years earlier when Kiff and Barry used to be in 5th Grade. Kiff sees that while her younger self wanted to stick to watching Lil' Ouchie Booboo!, Barry convinced her to move forward and watch a new movie instead. Kiff hears Barry's words and realizes that she must also move forward. As she opens the door to exit the closet, she slowly opens her eyes in the real world, but she then hears Chubbles Wubbington! playing and turns back to watch the movie, causing her to fall back into the trance.
Eventually, Kiff remembers that she has to save Barry in the real world. She opens the door again and sees a dark, starry void on the other side. After briefly hesitating, she steps into the void to leave her memory and is awakened from her trance. Kiff then realizes that everyone tried pulling Barry backwards out of the harp when they should have been pulling forward. She pulls him out forward, breaking the harp and freeing everyone from its effects.
During their next hangout in the AV closet, Kiff and Barry decide to watch a new Chubbles Wubbington movie, Air Mail. Just as they start watching, Barry falls backwards again and gets stuck in a tuba.
