Beechwood Short is an unseen character in the 2020 Disney+ original film Artemis Fowl.
Background[]
Beechwood Short was a fairy and elf who worked with Artemis Fowl I in helping protecting various treasures in the fairy world, including the Aculos. Though he does not appear physically, his death and the theft of the Aculos play a key impact in the film. Although Briar Cudgeon considered him to be a traitor to the People who live in Haven City, Commander Root still had faith in Beechwood while the latter's daughter Holly found the truth of his actions in a plan to clear her father's name.
After Holly Short found the truth of what happened to her father, she found his ID tag at the Hill of Tara, but was later captured and placed into Fowl Manor. After Holly used the power of the Aculos to save Artemis' father, he then told Holly that her father was a hero.
Role in the film[]
Beechwood was to make a physical appearance throughout the film reportedly played by Laurence Kinlan. However, all scenes where he physically appears were cut in the final version of the film. The only reference to Beechwood in the final version of the film aside from mentions is his fallen ID tag, which Beechwood's daughter Holly Short found at the Hill of Tara.
