Sir Ben Kingsley, (born Krishna Pandit Bhanji), is an English actor with a career spanning over five decades. He is best known for his role as Mohandas Gandhi in Richard Attenborough's epic historical drama film, Gandhi for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor, and has also starred in Barry Levinson's 1991 biographical crime film, Bugsy, Steven Spielberg's 1993 epic historical drama film, Schindler's List, the 2000 crime film, Sexy Beast, the 2003 psychological drama film, House of Sand and Fog, Martin Scorsese's 2010 psychological thriller film, Shutter Island, and Scorsese's 2011 mystery adventure drama film, Hugo. His performances in Bugsy and Sexy Beast garnered nominations for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, while his leading role in House of Sand and Fog received a nomination for Best Actor. He is also well-known for voicing Drago in the 2003 fantasy adventure prequel Dragonheart 3: The Sorcerer's Curse, and as Archibald Snatcher in the 2014 stop-motion animated fantasy comedy film, The Boxtrolls.
His Disney roles include portraying The Man in the Yellow Suit in Tuck Everlasting and Nizam in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. He also played Trevor Slattery in the 2013 Marvel film, Iron Man 3, Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King and the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Additionally, he voiced Bagheera in Jon Favreau's 2016 live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book and played Otto Frank in Anne Frank: The Whole Story.
