Bessie is a vehicle in the 2006 Disney/Pixar animated film Cars.

Bessie is Radiator Springs' resident road-paving machine. Lightning McQueen is sentenced to repave the town's roads, he is strapped to Bessie and forced to pull her all across until he's finished. After Lightning serves his sentence of pulling Bessie to repave the main road and got tar on his paint, the Tuner Cars are sentenced to the same punishment by Doc Hudson when they are arrested by Sheriff for speeding in Radiator Springs. They got covered in tar as well, but unlike Lightning, it never got washed off.

Trivia

• Bessie is the only vehicle in Cars that can't move under its own power, except for trailers.
• She is also the only vehicle in the film with no eyes and is not an anthropomorphic vehicle.
• According to Cars Finder, Bessie is a Basic Service Equipment road paving machine. She gets her name from the initials for Basic Service Equipment: BSE.
