"Best Friends Forever" is a song sung by Wander and Lord Hater in the Wander Over Yonder episode, "The Buddies". It's sung by the two about how much they do for each other as a buddy, as they try to survive in the prison dimension. It is later revealed it was all a dream Lord Hater was having, and he is shocked by this.

The song was later reprized and parodied three more times in the episode: First by Lord Hater in an attempt, he's treating Wander as a buddy, second by Lord Hater again when he saves him being swallowed by a Sand Snapper, and finally by Wander and the inmates after his rescue.

• This is the first song concerning the relationship between Wander and Lord Hater.
• This is the second song that Lord Hater sings in the episode after "Hater and the Queen".
• This is the third song to take place in a dream sequence after "Mother and Child Y'all" and "Westley, You're the Best".

Allusions

• Faust's inspiration for the lyrics of the song was "Jolly Holiday" from the film Mary Poppins.

Production Information

• This is the last song of Wander Over Yonder that Lauren Faust wrote.
• This episode was first shown at San Diego Comic-Con 2014.
• The lyrics "Something something something" was originally a placeholder, but Faust's husband, and Wander creator, Craig McCracken, suggested she leave it as-is since Hater would probably forget the words, anyway.
• The Two Man Gentlemen Band performed this song live at the Mint in L.A. the night before the episode aired.
