Big City Greens (originally titled Country Club) is a 2018 Disney animated television series on Disney Channel. The series is created by Chris and Shane Houghton, who originally worked on Nickelodeon's Harvey Beaks. The series received an early preview on June 8, 2018 on DisneyNOW and YouTube, and officially premiered on the Disney Channel on June 18, 2018
The series focuses on Cricket Green, a mischievous and optimistic country boy who moves to the big city (simply called Big City) with his family. Cricket’s curiosity and enthusiasm leads his wildly out of place family on epic journeys and into the hearts of his new neighbors. Emmy Award-winning director Rob Renzetti (creator of My Life as a Teenage Robot and supervising producer for Gravity Falls) serves as executive producer and the Houghton brothers serve as co-executive producers.[1]
The intro was first shown at San Diego Comic Con on July 21, 2017.
Cricket and Tilly are the only characters who have appeared in every episode of the series.
The episode title cards appear on items seen throughout the show.
According to the creators, the series is mostly set on weekends, weeknights and vacations such as summer break, which explains why Cricket, Tilly and their friends their age have not been seen attending school yet. [citation needed]
Chris Houghton claimed that the series takes place in the same universe as Kim Possible.[2]
