"Big Picture" is the second segment of the sixty-eighth episode of Big City Greens.
Synopsis[]
The Greens go to a hipster drive-in movie, where Gloria proves her life is fun by taking the perfect Snap-a-gram photo.
Plot[]
The Greens, which now includes Gloria apparently, head to a drive-in movie theater for the evening. The gang is going to see Honey, You Turned Me into a Monkey, which was Nancy's favorite movie growing up. Gloria is upset as her Snap-a-gram friends have all gone on to do bigger and better things while she still works at a café. Cricket decides to help make the perfect photo for her. Knowing that the film will be long, Gramma Alice decides to go use the restroom, but Bill follows, knowing that she will lose her way. When the movie begins, Nancy begins to notice that the film portrays a dumb blonde named Dr. Ditzy, which begins to bother her when Tilly begins to mimic the character's mannerisms.
Bill and Alice realize that they themselves are lost in the drive-in and have trouble making their way back, with Bill reluctantly buying a spaghetti and meatball shake. Gloria decides to get a photo with the film's star Mr. Banana, but he aggravatingly does not want to be touched, resulting in him going back to his trailer. Cricket and Gloria break in and a chase ensues where they try to hide from the ravaged monkey. Gloria admits that she feels left out of the amazing adventures her friends have, but Cricket points out that she has adventures with him all the time and that that should be enough. Mr. Banana finds them and their actions result in Bill and Alice finding the truck and Tilly missing the ending of the movie.
Gloria finally comes to the realization that she does not need to validate her successes in life and opts to delete her Snap-a-gram account. She then joins Cricket in a game of trash war after the two end up in a garbage dump. The whole gang regroups and leaves the drive-in where Nancy breaks down her insecurity about how the character was portrayed in the movie. Tilly admits that she is well aware of the dated depiction and that she does not care and knows that she will not grow up to emulate what she saw on the screen, making Nancy happy. As the gang drive home, Alice mocks Bill's sense of direction, which ironically causes him to briefly forget how to get home.
