"Birdyguard" is the second segment of the fourth episode of the Disney Channel animated series StuGo.
Synopsis[]
Herpetological Hijinks! Larry saves a baby lizard and swears to protect it from harm.
Plot[]
Larry shows Pliny and Merian a lizard egg and they watch it hatch. Excited over seeing the creature, they are shocked when a large heron appears insistent on trying to capture the baby reptile. Larry vows to protect "Elizardbeth" from harm from that point onward. He takes her to his various favorite hangout spots, all the while trying to avoid the bird. After one too many close calls, he races back to the living quarters and tries to hide Elizardbeth once again. The bird shoves its way into the abode and apparently captures Chip, forcing the rest of the kids to race over to Dr. Lullah's lab, who is out at the time.
The kids resolve to build a protective vault of sorts for Elizardbeth, dubbed the N.H.A.S.T.E. (Night Heron Attack Seclusion Terrarium Enclosure). The vault leaves Elizardbeth in a small glass tank and in four separate rooms to keep the heron at bay. Larry is disappointed in the fact that he cannot directly be near his favorite lizard, but the others tell him that this is what's best for her. While the others are distracted, Larry sneaks into the vault and manages to get past all the rooms, one of which is simply Sara dressed as a cat and committing to her role. The heron forces Chip to trick its way into the lab and causes chaos.
Larry manages to get all the way to the end and reunites with Elizardbeth while the heron follows closely behind and reaches the end too. Larry tricks it into falling into Elizardbeth's glass case as the other kids pull the emergency eject button, sending Larry and Elizardbeth back out onto the beach. Larry realizes that he cannot keep protecting Elizardbeth from harm all the time and lets her back into the wild, just as the heron arrives and snatches her away. It turns out that they actually belong to a small community of herons that protect baby lizards. The heron was trying to return Elizardbeth to her home. Larry laughs at the irony, as the kids are still suffering at the lab.

- Despite appearing this episode, Dr. Lullah, does not speak, though she is still credited.
- This episode implies that the kids are new to understanding that lizards shed even though they are all middle school students.
