On March 9, 2018, Kevin Feige revealed that there are plans to make a sequel to Black Panther.[1]
On October 11, 2018, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Ryan Coogler has sighed on to return to write and direct the film, with filming expected to begin in late 2019 or early 2020.[3]
On January 28, 2019, Angela Bassett's husband Courtney B. Vance stated that the main cast of the first film would return for the sequel, including Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, with Bassett stating "[We didn't technically see him] go into the ocean, no".
