Blade is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is written by Michael Starrbury, Nic Pizzolatto, Michael Green, and Eric Pearson. It is scheduled to be released on November 7, 2025 and will be the thirty-eighth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the second film of Phase Six.

On July 20, 2019, it was revealed at San Diego Comic Con 2019 that a Blade reboot was in the works with Mahershala Ali set to star as the title character.[2]
On February 5, 2021, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Stacy Osei-Kuffour had been tapped to pen the film's script.[4]
On March 1, 2021, it was reported that the film would begin production in September 2021 in Atlanta and was expected to wrap in December.[5]
On May 5, 2021, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the filming schedule has been pushed to July 2022, so that Marvel Studios can spend time working on the script.[6]
On July 19, 2021, Deadline reported that Bassam Tariq was hired to direct the film.[7]
On November 19, 2021, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Delroy Lindo was cast in an undisclosed role.[8]
On February 22, 2022, Deadline reported that Aaron Pierre was cast in an undisclosed key role.[9]
On April 27, 2022, it was reported that the working title for the film is "Perfect Imprints".[10]
On June 23, 2022, it was reported that Milan Ray had joined the cast of the film in an undisclosed key role.[11]
On June 27, 2022, it was reported that the filming start date had been delayed to October 2022.[12]
On September 2, 2022, it was reported that filming is scheduled to begin on October 5, 2022 and it is expected to wrap by January 28, 2023.[13]
On September 27, 2022, Variety reported that Bassam Tariq had exited his role as the director, only two months before production would begin, though will remain attached to the project as an executive producer, and that Beau DeMayo is the new screenwriter for the film.[14]
On November 21, 2022, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Yann Demange was hired to direct the film, with Michael Starrbury writing the screenplay.[15]
On April 12, 2023, Deadline reported that Mia Goth had joined the cast in an undisclosed role.[3]
On April 28, 2023, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Nic Pizzolatto had joined the film as a writer and that he would co-write the film's script.[16]
On June 13, 2023, Disney announced they had pushed back the films release date to February 14, 2025, taking over the release date of The Fantastic Four: First Steps.[17] This comes in line of the ongoing writers strike in America.
On November 1, 2023, Variety reported that Mahershala Ali was close to quitting the film due to script issues, with Michael Green hired to re-write the film, and it's estimated to have a budget under $100 million, making it the lowest budgeted MCU film.[18]
On November 6, 2023, in an interview with Deadline, Yann Demange confirmed that the film would be rated-R.[19]
On November 10, 2023, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the film had pushed back it's release date from February 14, 2025 to November 7, 2025.[1]
On March 17, 2024, in an interview with Variety, Aaron Pierre confirmed that he left the project due to script changes.[20]
On June 12, 2024, The Wrap reported that Yann Demange would no longer be directing the film, and that Eric Pearson would be rewriting the script.[21]
On June 20, 2024, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Delroy Lindo had also exited the film, with Mia Goth confirmed to be portraying Lilith.[22]
