The Blixen Arms Apartment is a location featured in the 2021 Disney+ original film Flora & Ulysses.
Background[]
The Blixen Arms Apartment is an apartment complex located in the suburban community of Vancouver, Canada. It is the home where George Buckman lives after he used to live in his family's house ever since he struggled in facing a writer's block in writing comics. Outside the facility itself is where a hostile cat named "Mr. Klaus" would stalk any visitor nearby whether they interact with him or not. This place is also where Dr. Meescham lives who within the apartment complex.
Role in the film[]
When George is curious of Ulysses thinking that he might be a help to his apartment, he takes his daughter Flora to the complex where they are on their way to the apartment. Just as they arrive, they encounter a hostile cat named "Mr. Klaus" who attempts to pounce on the two, just as the two run away from the cat who is unable to pounce on them. Escaping from the cat, George and Flora approach Dr. Meescham, who checks on Ulysses to see if there is anything all right with him, despite his reputation. She then tells George and his daughter that Ulysses is fine according to her opinion, just as he impresses George with his "poetry" skills just before the Buckmans return home.
Later, Miller arrives at the apartment where he knocks on George's room, telling him to know where Ulysses is, just as George tells William to act natural, while he faces Miller just as he tricks Miller about his claim about Ulysses. However, Mr. Klaus pounces on him, constantly attacking him across the apartment just before George escapes using his car while his daughter and William follow along while being chased by Miller who confronts George to hand over the squirrel.
Furthermore, George later returns to Dr. Meescham at his apartment where he approaches her and warns her that Miller is urging him to hand over the squirrel, which Meescham replies that she skipped bowling for tonight, offering him to have a private conversation with her. During a conversation with her, Meescham recaps that when she met the other Dr. Meescham, her country was at war and each day was uncertain just as she shares her story about the importance of having a moment for the person that needs him the most (in this case Phyllis, his wife) just before George returns home. The apartment does not appear again throughout the rest of the film.
