"Blooper Quest" is the second segment of the twenty-second episode of the Disney Channel animated series Kiff.
Synopsis[]
Kiff, Barry and the crew set out to make a movie so they can have a fun blooper reel, but blooping is hard.
Plot[]
After watching the end-credits blooper reel for Wubbington: The End: Part One, Kiff and Barry are inspired to create a blooper reel of their own. They shoot a video of Barry slipping on a banana peel, but find it forced instead of funny. Kiff and Barry decide to create their own film so that bloopers can occur spontaneously while filming it, and write a script for a dramatic film entitled Found in Ambiguity. The film is directed by Kiff and stars Barry and Renée, with their other classmates making up the supporting cast and production crew.
The cast and crew gather at Reggie's house to watch the completed film, and they are all moved by the final product except for Kiff, who is frustrated that they failed to produce any bloopers due to every take being perfect. Kiff reasons that due to the film being a "sparse indie" consisting mostly of people talking and featuring minimal props, it lacked any potential for bloopers to begin with. She decides to rewrite Found in Ambiguity as a comedy film with more props.
Shooting the rewritten film at Café Penguino, Kiff choreographs an elaborate, prop-heavy sequence for Barry and the cast to perform, but they perfect the scene in one take. During a break from filming, Kiff sees Barry in the basketball court behind Café Penguino failing to make a free throw. She writes a scene into the film where Barry's character must shoot a backwards free throw, but Barry makes the shot in all 82 takes. After hearing Trevor mispronounce the word "film" as "flim", Kiff is inspired to write another scene featuring dialogue full of tongue twisters, but during filming Barry and Renée deliver their lines perfectly.
At Reggie's house, the cast and crew watch the reshot film, but are joined this time by Candle's producer father Roy, who is highly impressed. He offers to invest 20 million nuts into a professional reshoot of Found in Ambiguity with expensive sets and equipment, while retaining Kiff and her classmates as the cast and crew. Given that they're 7th graders with no professional filmmaking experience, Kiff sees the reshoot as a perfect opportunity for bloopers.
Found in Ambiguity is eventually released to great success, even sweeping the 44th Annual Tableys. During her acceptance speech for the Best Director award, Kiff laments her failure to shoot any bloopers and goes as far as to call it the worst day of her life, but she accidentally says "my wife" instead of "my life", causing Candle to laugh. Kiff tries to give her speech again but makes more flubs, causing the entire audience to erupt in laughter. Kiff realizes that she has finally managed to create some bloopers and is satisfied at last.
