"Blue Greens" is the second segment of the ninety-second episode of Big City Greens.
Synopsis[]
Tilly catches ennui, so Cricket tries to cheer her up.
Plot[]
Cricket wakes up to discover that Tilly is feeling "ennui", (French for boredom), and that she has no interest in getting up or doing anything. Cricket tries to have fun by himself, but feels that it is better to try and turn Tilly's emotions around by being lively around her. Meanwhile, Gloria has managed to sell her dresser to someone online, but convinced by her boss girl podcast, decides to move the dresser up the stairs of the basement by herself. While she manages to finally get it all the way up, she accidentally lodges the dresser right in the door, trapping her. Stuck with her parakeet Admiral Mustard, Gloria desperately tries to call for help, but no one can hear her.
Cricket tries a variety of tactics to get Tilly up and running, but she stymies all of these with sad diatribes and French terms. Cricket then recruits Bill and Gramma Alice to help with rising Tilly's spirits. As soon as Bill enters the room however, he immediately succumbs to the "ennui virus". Cricket sends Alice in, with protection, to try and combat Tilly's ennui, but this has little effect and she too starts to feel sad and melancholy. Gloria desperately tries to get out of the basement, but is constantly pushed on by her podcast, resulting in her losing her phone power. She spots a hammer and realizes that she must resort to drastic measures.
Cricket blames the ennui on the weather and sets up a bunch of lights outside of the house in an effort to light up the sky. He ends up overpowering the grid and knocks the power out everywhere, causing him to also "succumb". As he sits next to Tilly, he explains that he feels miserable for not being able to help her, but she tells him that she is simply having one of those days and that she is happy to hear that he was concerned for her and wanted to help. This apparently causes the ennui to finally lift as the Greens relax. Gloria busts through the dresser and announces her dominance, causing Cricket to tell her to "read the room".
