They should put Captain Nemo in Once Upon A Time. I mean come on, they put not just fairy tales or stories that takes place in medeval times, they also put in Victorian Era classics like Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Frankenstein.

most definatley, i can think of a few more obscure ones which probably aren't famous enough for ouat
I think I know a counterpart for Phileas Fogg, a travel agent.
That's a shame. Maybe Naseeruddin Shah can reprise his role as Nemo from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. He did a great job, depite the mediocre movie. Just as long as they portray him as Indian.
Welllll...I don't mind him being portrayed as European, in this or other movies, quite so much. It seems that Nemo's being Indian is a bit of a retcon.
In the original 20K novel, he was described as being pale-skinned, and apparently monotheistic (the grave markers in the coral cemetery are crosses, and he refers to "Almighty God" in the last words Arronax hears him speak. He doesn't die in the book). He does help a stranded Indian and refers to him coming from "the country of the oppressed--the same as me", but that's ambiguous...he could just mean oppression in general.
It seems that Verne was planning on making Nemo a Polish nobleman who was consumed with hatred of Russia for overrunning his country and slaughtering his family. But Verne's editors tore their hair out and shouted, "Sacre bleu, Jules, what are you trying to pull? Russia is France's ALLY!" So Verne made Nemo's background ambiguous and only explicitly made him Indian in The Mysterious Island.
(And speaking of The Mysterious Island--I've always wondered why Disney's 20K didn't have the open ending the book did. Didn't they consider that they could have made a Mysterious Island movie?)
I haven't really been keeping up with Once, but I agree...Captain Nemo was my first literary crush (until I dumped him for Sherlock Holmes, LOL) and I'd like to see him represented on Once. Maybe they could borrow my crossover plotbunny and give him unrequited love for Ariel?
Honestly, I never even suspected Nemo was Indian until the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen book came out. In retrospect, I think it would have been a better image of him from the start. That being said, either way works for me as long as they add the good captain to the show; and if they can put Ariel into his storyline, somehow, all the better.
Also, if he does end up portrayed as Indian, I think Sendhil Ramamurthy from “Heroes” would be an ideal casting, since Naveen Andrews is unavailable. For the record, in my opinion, as cool as Sherlock is, he still doesn’t hold a candle to the captain. J
Hower, if we think white guys, I nominate Bryan Cranston.
"Breaking Bad" proved that not only is he charismatic, but he's great at playing Nemo-like characters.
True, Cranston does posses the charisma needed for Nemo. I wouldn't necessarily be against using him, but I'd still rather go with the Indian price image.
He (or rather, his corpse) was also Indian in "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island", so it's clear that the modern image of Nemo has him as Indian.
Well, finally he appeared in Once Upon a Time
