Leslie Townes Hope, KBE, KC*SG, KSS, known professionally as Bob Hope, was a British-born American stand-up comedian, vaudevillian, actor, singer, dancer, athlete, and author, who appeared in vaudeville, on Broadway, and in radio, television, and movies.

He appeared as himself on The Muppet Show in episode 221, the Wonderful World of Disney episode "Mickey's 50", and NBC Salutes the 25th Anniversary of the Wonderful World of Disney. He also appeared as an ice cream vendor in The Muppet Movie.

In June 2000, he spent nearly a week in a California hospital after being hospitalized for gastrointestinal bleeding. In August 2001, he spent close to two weeks in the hospital recovering from pneumonia. On July 27, 2003, two months after his 100th birthday, Bob Hope died at his home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles. He appeared as himself in The Golden Girls episode "You Gotta Have Hope", where Rose Nylund believes he is her father. He was mentioned in the fourth episode of Agent Carter.
