Background[]
Physical appearance[]
Peterson is a large light blue dinosaur-like monster with light blue skin around his body, purple spikes on his back. He is shown to have a huge set of dentures (which are made from yak horn stained with toxic musk, according to his Scare Card) which he places on his mouth which he uses to scare - although they became modified as chatter teeth with the conversion of scream energy to laugh energy,
Appearances[]
Monsters, Inc.[]
Although seen in a commercial for Monsters, Inc. on Mike and Sulley's television, Peterson does not physically appear until the part where the duo enter the company where he is seen walking amongst the other characters in the background. Later when the Scarers are preparing to do their work routine, Peterson follows alongside Sulley and the other monsters as they arrive at the Scare Floor; Peterson's assistant Frank gives him large teeth while practicing in how to scare just before Jerry commands the other monsters to get ready. In this case, Peterson enters while the other monsters follow along and after he scares a child within the door, Frank grabs a Scream Canister as the montage continues, just before Sulley becomes ranked as the Top Scarer. Later, Peterson is seen returning his teeth to his assistant just before leaving with the other Scarers who finished their duty in work just before Mike goes on a date with Celia at Harryhausen's.
Peterson is later seen amongst many customers seated on their tables at Harryhausen's while Mike is on a date with Celia. Later, when Boo pops out of Sulley's bag and appears, Peterson and the other monsters fearfully react to see a human kid in the monster world, causing the survivors inside the restaurant to react in panic and leave the restaurant, but not before being halted by several CDA Agents preparing for decontamination. He later appears in the background during the part where Mike is trying to find Sulley at Monsters, Inc. where he shouts out the latter's name loudly, causing the other monsters to become embarrassed just before he suddenly finds him.
Later when Randall is chasing Sulley and Mike in an attempt for him to snatch Boo from them, Peterson is seen again studying the files at the Scare Floor before he can scare, only to notice Mike and Sulley passing embarrassed but not before Celia "congratulates" Randall in being the Top Scarer (which he isn't) as a plan to trick him. After Randall was banished into the human world with Waternoose being arrested by the CDA for his crimes, Peterson is seen amongst the other Scarers outside Monsters, Inc. who notice Waternoose's arrest. He is last seen putting on his dentures (which are modified into chatter teeth) at the end of the film with scream energy converted to laugh energy, as Peterson adjusts with the other employees.
Monsters at Work[]
Peterson also appears as a background character in Monsters at Work usually in the Mike's Comedy Class segments at the end of the episodes "The Damaged Room" and "Bad Hair Day".
Video game appearances[]
Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena[]
Peterson, largely referred to simply as "Dentures" through in-game text with his full name in the manual being Bob "Dentures" Peterson[1], also appears as a playable character in Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena. In Solo Mode, Peterson is introduced in a level titled "Dentures Bites", the first level of the Monsters, Inc. Lobby area as one of the two opponents the player must defeat. Upon completing the level, Peterson is unlocked, making him a playable character.
Monsters, Inc. Run[]
Peterson and his assistant Frank appeared as playable characters in the discontinued mobile game.
