Bobby Radcliffe would have been the main protagonist of the 101 Dalmatians Plantation series, had the initial pitch been produced.
He would have been the ten-year-old son or nephew of Roger & Anita, and is the only human the Dalmatian puppies talk to.
Bio[]
Bobby is a sensitive kid who, because of his shy nature, relates better to animals than people. As a result, his best friends are the Dalmatian puppies. Like all boys his age, he's filled with an infinite curiosity which usually gets him into trouble. He spends all his free time with the puppies, constantly trying to sneak them into school in his backpack.
He is also neighbors and in the same class as Nastia DeVil, Cruella's niece, whom constantly tries to buy the puppies from him, to no avail. She wants the Dalmatian puppies for herself, and is always trying to steal them from the plantation, blackmail Bobby into giving them up.
Had the series been picked up, Bobby would prominently feature in several focus stories, such as Nastia's henchmen, Ernst and Simon, pretending to befriend Bobby and attempting to steal the Dalmatians during a sleepover at the plantation, Nastia using a science project to brainwash Bobby into giving her the puppies, and Nastia tricking Bobby into giving up the deed to the plantation.
There also appears to be a girl in Bobby's school, whom he has a crush on but is too shy to talk to, leading to the Dalmatians trying to play Cupid.
Notes[]
- While initially pitched as Roger & Anita's son, the series pitch does make a note suggesting that he could be either Roger & Anita's nephew or adoptive son. This is because if he was Roger & Anita's biological son, the puppies would be long grown up by the time he's ten.
