Bors is a supporting character of the 2004 Touchstone Pictures film King Arthur, which sought to tell a historically accurate version of the legend of Arthur and his knights.
Background[]
Personality[]
Bors is the gruffest, toughest, and most savage of Arthur's knights. He tends to be the most humorous as well, making light out of the situations they land in. He is also the most protective, considering his fellow knights to be his closest kin, especially Dagonet. He is also shown to be a big softy, having a loving wife (whom he's not actually married to) and several children whom he lovingly refers to as his "bastards". Bors has the biggest heart out of the whole group and despite being the most resistant to resume working with the Romans, was quick to turn around and serve under Arthur whom he clearly cares for deeply.
Trivia[]
- In usual legends, Bors is actually known as Bors the Younger, his father King Bors the Elder being one of Arthur's earliest allies. He was known for his strong vow of celibacy, refusing to sleep with any woman and is constantly tested for it. He also has a brother, and fellow knight, named Lionel who tried to kill him after Bors chose to rescue a maiden over him. Bors refused to fight back and God rescues him from Lionel. Some legends have Bors accompany Galahad or Percival for the Holy Grail and is often depicted as the last living knight of Arthur's and the one to take the thrown following his passing.
