Br'er Dog is a character who was featured in the Disney Parks attraction Splash Mountain.
History[]
Development history[]
The Br'er Dog animatronic in the Tokyo Disneyland version of the attraction is actually a reused model of the Tex Ranger animatronic character from the former "America Sings", which ran from 1974 to 1988, where the dog from the attraction is seen during the "Home on the Range" sequence in Act II of the attraction. After the attraction closed down in 1988, Splash Mountain opened in Disneyland in 1989, Tex Ranger was placed in the "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" sequence in the end of the attraction.
Due to the success of the attraction at Disneyland, the Splash Mountain attraction was later constructed at Tokyo Disneyland, the dog animatronic from America Sings was replicated into the Tokyo Disneyland version of the attraction, converting the America Sings character into the Br'er Dog character at the Splash Mountain attraction.
Role in the attraction[]
In the Tokyo version of Splash Mountain, Br'er Dog could be seen at the "How Do You Do?" sequence where he can be seen sitting on a row-boat playing his guitar and singing, alongside with Br'er Porcupine and Br'er Raccoon.
