Braddock

Braddock is a supporting character in the 2019 series Amphibia.

Background[]

Personality[]

Braddock is very sweet-natured and loves making new friends, such as where she bonded with Grime's former prisoner, Sasha Waybright. Braddock is also a terrible liar as she got easily nervous and sweated a lot when being questioned by General Yunan. Braddock also hates when someone goes against their word on a promise where she got angry at Sasha for breaking her promise to her and Percy when she cared more about retrieving Barrel's warhammer than their safety.

Physical appearance[]

Braddock is a female toad with light purple skin. She had violet shaded spots dotted across her cheeks, resembling freckles, and a light yellow underbelly. She also has blonde hair tied back into a bun with a loop of string and wears leather armbands and brown iron armor alike the other toad soldiers. In "Barrel's Warhammer", Braddock wore red armor with an eye painted on her shoulder pads.

Role in the series[]

In "Prison Break", Braddock first appears arriving in the dungeon where Captain Grime and the prisoner, Sasha Waybright are. Braddock then starts gossiping with Sasha, showing the two had become acquainted before Braddock is reminded by Grime if she had anything to report, which she did. Braddock showed Grime that two giant herons where in close range of Toad Tower and was ordered to put out the tower's torches, in order to hide from the herons.

However, after Percy plays loud music, the herons start attacking Toad Tower, which prompts the toad soldiers to evacuate into the tower's safe room. When Grime is helped by Sasha in saying nice things about his soldiers, he describes Braddock "tough as beetle skin," which prompts her to admit she used a steel wool brush, despite causing her some pain. After being motivated by Grime, Braddock joins the soldiers in fighting the herons to take back the tower. When she and Percy are cornered by the herons, Percy confesses his love for her, which shocks Braddock, prompting to slap him and give him a kiss. After Sasha and Grime defeat the herons, Braddock and the rest of the soldiers are praised by Grime where they are rewarded with drinks of beetle mead.

Trivia[]

Braddock was the only known female toad warrior to be named in Captain Grime's army before Sasha joined in.
The name "Braddock" is of Old English origin, meaning “broad-spreading oak.”
