"Bringing Home the Beacon" is the first segment of the seventh episode of the Disney Channel animated series Hailey's On It!

Synopsis[]

Hailey vows to fix the ill-fated Oceanside Lighthouse before her mom can sell it.

Plot[]

Hailey and Scott are chasing after a mouse and successfully catch it with cheese. This is so that Hailey can complete an item on her list which was to teach an animal to play piano. Upon getting out of the woods, they come across Oceanside's famous lighthouse which was built by Hailey's great-great-grandfather P.H. Phlorange who incorrectly built the light house, resulting in the light shining towards the town and becoming useless. She discovers that her mother Patricia, a realtor, is selling the lighthouse to Bill Board who wants to use it to put a billboard up. Not wanting to lose a major piece of family history, Hailey sets out to save the lighthouse.

Hailey recruits Scott, along with Becker, Kristine, and Chainsaw to help with fixing the light house so that she can cross another item on her list: Prove to mom that she can fix anything. The group basically turn the lighthouse into a fun house such as putting a slide and a rock wall climber in it. After fixing up the place, Hailey invites Patricia and Bill to come over and see their work. While the overall build is still flawed, with the wallpaper and front door coming off, Hailey still shows off the light and seems to have finally gotten it working correctly by installing a reflector to make the light shine out into the sea.

The light ends up breaking, resulting in the light shining towards the city again. Hailey breaks down and reveals to Patricia that her main reason for wanting to rebuild it was so that she wouldn't not feel ashamed of her, but Patricia admits that she was mostly ashamed of the lighthouse itself and wanted to sell it to get it out of their family. Hailey and Patricia make up and allow Becker to dismantle it, however, she ends up making the light function properly which excites the townsfolk. As Bill Board angrily leaves over getting rejected, Patricia makes a joke about her name being "Patri-shi" which angers Scott as her joke does not make any sense.
