Bruno's Rats are characters who are featured in the 2021 Disney animated feature film, Encanto.

Background[]

This group of rats is shown to be affiliated with Bruno Madrigal living in the Madrigal family's house, the Casa Madrigal. They are shown to be working for Bruno, showing that they are his allies who are shown to assist him, such as the case of the rats holding green vision shards to repair the visionary image of the Casa Madrigal's fate.

Appearances[]

Encanto[]

Bruno's rats are first seen during the part where Mirabel enters Bruno's room where Mirabel stumbles upon a vase where three rats are seen scattering around while attempting to look for Bruno as Pico, Antonio's toucan, flies away in fear. They later appear during the musical number "We Don't Talk About Bruno" where they are seen dancing with Camilo who transforms into a creepy version of Bruno as they dance alongside him.

Later, after the failed proposal between Mariano and Isabela, Mirabel encounters more rats carrying vision shards where they enter a secret passageway via picture where she follows them. As she enters, she sees a figure who is none other than Bruno himself as a rat approaches its follower while Mirabel follows Bruno into a secret room. Mirabel encounters more rats inside just as she engages in a private conversation with Bruno about the Casa Madrigal being in danger of losing its magic.

Later when Mirabel asks Bruno for another vision, Antonio enters and tells Bruno that the rats told him everything while telling his pet jaguar Parce to not eat the rats who gave out helpful information just as Antonio tells Bruno to use his room so he can have a private conversation with Mirabel. Later when the Casa Madrigal is being destroyed due to the house losing its magic, Bruno is seen escaping with a rat just as he barges out of a wall to escape from the house due to the path Bruno used to exit via portrait being blocked by debris, which the house is suddenly destroyed with Bruno and his rats escaping. One last rat is seen taking a picture of the Madrigal family for a family photo during the end of the film.
