Carol Christine Hilaria Pounder, known professionally as C.C.H. Pounder (stylized "CCH Pounder"), is a Guyanese-American actress and voice actress. Her Disney roles so far are Daisy Bates in The Ernest Green Story, Warden Sharon Stiles in Revenge, Kadma in W.I.T.C.H., The Oracle in Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Kongwe in The Lion Guard episode "The Wisdom of Kongwe", Desdemona and Coldfire in Gargoyles, and Mo'at in Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water. She is slated to reprise her role as Mo'at in Avatar 3.
Pounder was born in British Guiana (now Guyana) and raised on a sugar plantation that her father managed. Through her mother's work, Pounder attended a Catholic boarding school in Sussex, England before attending from Ithaca College in the United States.
Making her film debut in 1979's All That Jazz, Pounder continued to appear in more films throughout her career, such as Go Tell It on the Mountain, Prizzi's Honor, Benny & Joon, RoboCop 3, Face/Off, Orphan, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters. In television, she is known for her roles as Dr. Angela Hicks in the NBC medical drama series ER, Detective Claudette Wyms in FX drama series The Shield, and Dr. Loretta Wade in the CBS drama series NCIS: New Orleans. She also appeared in L.A. Law, Women in Prison, Quantum Leap, The Cosby Show, The X-Files, Living Single, Millennium, Rocket Power, Static Shock, The Practice, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Jackie Chan Adventures, Justice League Unlimited, Warehouse 13, and Sons of Anarchy. She also appeared in television films, such as If These Walls Could Talk, Psycho IV: The Beginning, and Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story.
