CBC Television is a Canadian television network owned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the state-owned public broadcaster in Canada. It was founded on September 6, 1952 as Canada's first television network. While it presently airs exclusively Canadian content, it has aired American shows in the past.
CBC Television has broadcast the various Walt Disney anthology series since the 1950s, primarily under the Wonderful World of Disney banner. It continues to air The Wonderful World of Disney to the present (long after the show's original American run ended), but now uses the show name as an umbrella title for Disney-produced movies aired on the network on Sunday nights. It has also aired two Muppets franchise shows which have since been acquired by Disney: The Muppet Show and Muppets Tonight.
