The Disneyland version of the restaurant originally opened as "Creole Cafe" where it opened along with the rest of New Orleans Square around the time selling Cajun/Creole cuisine since the themed "land"'s opening in 1966. However, as of 1972, Creole Cafe was suddenly renamed to Cafe Orleans, the facility's current name used as of today.
Tokyo Disneyland's version opened on April 15, 1983 with the rest of the park located at the Adventureland area at the park. However, unlike its Disneyland counterpart, Tokyo Disneyland's counterpart of Cafe Orleans sells products that are not sold in the Disneyland Resort. Additionally, the restaurant itself is located at Adventureland, due to the park itself not having a New Orleans Square area.
Summary[]
Cafe Orleans is a restaurant that sells authentic Cajun/Creole-style cuisine which is themed after New Orleans hence its name. The Disneyland version of the restaurant serves food to remind guests of eating at New Orleans and is located at the New Orleans Square area of the park. In addition to the cuisine served at the restaurant itself, guests are also able to dine either outdoors or indoors (especially when it comes to the cold weather or rain in California). In addition to this, the outdoor area of Cafe Orleans allows guests to have an opportunity to look at the Mark Twain Riverboat at the Rivers of America area passing by via outdoor viewing where guests are also able to take pictures of the area from a distance.
Tokyo Disneyland's counterpart of Cafe Orleans is different from its California counterpart. The Tokyo Disneyland version of the restaurant sells crepes and is themed after Royal Street in the French Quarter and is located at Adventureland, due to Tokyo Disneyland itself not having a New Orleans Square area in it.
