California Loco is the signature song from the 2016 Disney animated short, Inner Workings. It is the short's theme song. It was performed by composer Ludwig Göransson and Este Haim from the band Haim.
Background[]
The song is first heard when Paul listens to radio while taking a bath just as Paul dances to the beat, much to his brain believing that this could be a distraction to Paul. It is later heard during the end of the short when a reformed, spontaneous Paul returns to his office and feels the rhythm by typing in his keyboard in sync where he and the other colleagues dance together in joy, alongside the other senior members Paul met outside his office. While only a short version of the song is heard throughout the short, an extended version is included in the soundtrack as a single, released on December 16, 2016.
