"Call Me Guy" is the second segment of the thirty-ninth episode of Recess.
Synopsis[]
Gus loses his glasses and becomes cool as a swingin' boy named "Guy".
Plot[]
Gus once again teaches safety to Hector of the Kindergartners who happily tells him that his mother okayed having him walk him home from school that week. Gus continues to get pushed around until he drops his glasses and breaks them. The rest of the Gang arrive to help him, but are surprised to see that people are not only acting nicer to Gus, they think he is cool now and start calling him Guy. Gus is confused by this, but after going home and checking himself in the mirror, decides to come to school the next down without his glasses.
Gus once again gets adoration from the other classmates despite not being able to see and he tosses his glasses away on the roof of the school. The Gang attempt to help him without making it look like they are doing so and follow him around school. Gus is reminded by Hector that he needs to walk him home and agrees to, though Hector can tell that Gus is having trouble seeing. After nearly getting hit by a car, Hector blows up at Gus and starts calling him "Scary Danger Man" and heads home by himself.
The next day, the Recess Gang are trying to look for Gus so that he does not hurt himself again. They discover a figure on the roof of the school and realize that it is him. He finds his glasses and declares that he can see again, which does nothing for the students who go back to ignoring him. Gus realizes that as Guy he was able to climb to the roof efficiently, but is now afraid to climb down. As Miss Finster calls to get a ladder, Hector happily tells the gang, "That's my Safety Man!"
