- This cartoon marks Pete's final pairing with Donald Duck in the Golden Age of American animation; they would never face each other again until Music Store Donald in 2001.
- This is the only cartoon to have Pete, Donald, and Huey, Dewey, and Louie pairing together, until 1983 in Mickey's Christmas Carol.
- While Pete is talking with his ringside announcer when the nephews spy on him, he uses his old "big-eyes" design. During his match with Donald, he uses his newer design seen in many of his appearances in the late 40's through early 50's.
