Role in the series[]
Before the First Curse[]
Captain Silver is a captain of a ship in which Liam Jones and his brother, Killian is in Silver's servitude. He laughs when Liam says they are going to leave and join the Royal Navy. However, Killian has taken to drinking and gambles away his prospects. Silver reveals to Liam what Killian did and Liam tells him he won't abandon his brother, agreeing to get rid of the paperwork that would allow Liam and Killian to go into the navy,
Captain Silver guides the ship straight into a storm, which Liam points out and calls idiotic. However, Captain Silver ignores Liam's concerns and continues steering the crew into the storm. Liam ties Silver up and takes the ship for himself as the new captain. Killian thanks Liam and tells him there is no other person he would rather go straight into a storm with. However, unknowist to Silver, Killian and the rest of the crew, Liam is greeted by Hades who offers him a deal that if Liam drowns the crew, Hades will make sure Liam and Killian are the sole survivors and give them the Eye of the Storm. Liam agrees and Captain Silver dies at sea with the rest of the crew, while Liam and Killian survive.
After the Third Curse[]
When Killian is at the sorcerer's mansion with Liam, he learns that Liam lied to him about the missing pages about Hades in the storybook. Captain Silver then appears with the deceased crew and reveals to Killian that Liam made a deal with Hades to get rid of the pages. Silver reveals he went to Liam's bar and overheard him speaking with Hades and learnt that Liam made a deal with the god of the Underworld decades ago to ensure the crew's demise so that Liam and Killian would survive the storm. As revenge, Captain Silver and the crew take Liam and Killian to the cross-over point of the underworld and plan to send them to the firery waters before, but Silver is stopped by Hades, who sends him to hell. The rest of the crew are able to move on with Liam to Mount Olympus after he sacrifices himself as the crew now know the truth, which means their unfinished business is complete as well.
