Carmilla Rappaccini is portrayed as the goth pre-teen daughter of overzealous A.I.M. scientist Monica Rappaccini, and her mother's male clone "Manica". She spends most of her time in the A.I.M. HQ daycare center keeping to herself until she met the son of M.O.D.O.K., Lou Tarleton. While at first annoyed at his obnoxious behavior, she quickly changed her tune upon learning that he is M.O.D.O.K.'s son. Since then, she has become drawn to Lou and puts up with his eccentric behavior.
Carmilla Black is a member of the Scorpions working as Mac Gargan's top lieutenant. Described as "Looks that could kill", and "[looks] like she could kill you", she is a ruthless woman who does not hold back. She first appears in "Hitting the Big Time", she threatens Lonnie Lincoln and warns that she and her crew will see his boss, Big Donovan, very soon. She later takes part in the brawl between the One Hundred and Tenths vs the Scorpions where she makes quick work of her enemies.

In the comics, Carmilla Black was born Thasanee Rappaccini, and is the daughter of A.I.M. scientist Monica Rappaccini. She possessed the ability to sting those with her left arm and was immune to all kinds of poisons. She occasionally used the codename Scorpion.
Several outlets accidentally misspelled her name in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man as Carmela Black.
