Carole Augusta Shelley was an English actress, voice actress, and singer, who was best known for her roles as Gwendolyn Pigeon in the original Broadway production of The Odd Couple and the film, and as Madame Morrible in the original Broadway cast of Wicked. Her other stage credits include As You Like It, Absurd Person Singular, The Elephant Man, Stepping Out, Twelve Dreams, Cabaret, Billy Elliot: The Musical and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder.

For Disney, she voiced Amelia Gabble the Goose in the 1970 Disney animated feature film, The Aristocats, Lady Kluck in the 1973 Disney animated feature film, Robin Hood, and Lachesis the Fate in the 1997 Disney animated feature film, Hercules, a role she reprised in Hercules: The Animated Series and various Hercules video games. She also played Fiona in Jungle 2 Jungle and Cornwall Aunt in Quiz Show.

She died 15 days after her 79th birthday.
