"Carver the Terrible" is the second segment of the eighth episode of The Weekenders. It premiered on May 6, 2000 alongside "Dead Ringer".

Synopsis[]

Carver's classmates thinks he's a bully when they see him trip Laird.

Plot[]

Friday[]

Tino explains that on their way from school, Carver got dragged into a soccer game with some other kids. Carver is proving himself to be a great player while out on the field. Suddenly, during the last stretch, Carver seemingly trips up Laird. While he is praised for his abilities, people seem to think that he was playing rough in order to score. While walking home, Tino, Trish, and Lor bring up this fact to Carver, but he denies that he did anything to Laird. Laird tried to swing a kick to the ball, but missed and fell onto his back. His friends are relieved to hear that he was playing fair, though Carver maintains a macho attitude about it.

Saturday[]

While at the beach, Carver continues to spout his skills about being on the soccer field, annoying his friends. The gang get in line for a snack when the kids all begin to react to Carver in an almost terrified manner. This allows them to get to the head of the line where Percy also proceeds to have a terrified interaction with Carver. Carver believes that his skills have reached the other kids and is getting a hero treatment. This is further exaggerated when even Bree and Colby the Cool Kids give up their own seat for Carver in an almost frightened manner as well. Carver starts to believe that he is indeed becoming famous for his skills.

At Funville, the gang learn the truth when another kid asks Carver to not hurt him and they realize that he is seen as a bully by others. Carver plans to set the record straight, until he learns that he gets perks. This is short lived when bigger kid Josh shows up and challenges Carver to a fight tomorrow, terrifying him.

Sunday[]

Carver shows up at Tino's house where Tish and Lor also arrive to comfort him. They plan to go out somewhere where Josh cannot find him and choose the Anthropology museum. When they get there, Josh is there too, scaring them all.

Carver finally decides to stand up for himself and pretends to be tough when approaching Josh. Despite hesitation, Josh decides to fight Carver, but when he breaks a fence, Carver flees for his life. The two run to the park where Carver tricks Josh into running into a tree. Carver is about to take credit, but admits to what really happened and says he is not tough. With disaster averted, Carver, Tino, Lor, and Tish return to relaxing the rest of the day. Carver admits that he learned that being the toughest is a lonely way of living and Tino believes that due to Carver's humility, they averted an intergalactic disaster.
