Physical Appearance[]

Casey Newton is a teenage girl, possibly 15 or in her early 20s, with light brownish hair and blue eyes. One her outfits in the beginning is a black jacket over a grey shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Biography[]

Casey has been obsessed with outer space ever since childhood. On March 9, 2003, Eddie, her father, recorded a video of her counting stars during childhood. During 2015, her father was faced with losing his job, to the point she repeatedly tries to sabotage the planned demolition of a NASA site in Florida. However, at one point, she is caught and arrested by the authorities for trespassing. While being released from jail, she finds a pin in her belongings. While touching it, the pin transports her to Tomorrowland, which she could only see while others not. On the way home, her dad confiscates the pin while scolding her for trespassing on NASA property. That night, she secretly decides to go out and use the pin to find more on Tomorrowland. Her adventure is cut short when the pin's battery runs out, leaving Casey stranded in the lake much to her frustration.

With the help from her little brother Nate, Casey finds a Houston memorabilia store related to the pin. Its owners, Hugo and Ursula Gernsback, attack her when she refuses anything about the pin, insisting that Casey knows about a "little girl". Athena breaks in and defeats both of them, revealing themselves to be androids. After Casey and Athena steal a car, Athena reveals she is an animatronic, purposed to find and recruit people who fit the ideals of Tomorrowland. Athena then drops Casey off outside an adult Frank's house in Pittsfield, New York.

At first, the reclusive Frank refuses to help Casey's request to take her to Tomorrowland, having been banished from it years ago. Inside, Casey finds a probability counter marking the end of the world. Frank warns her that the future is doomed, but she disagrees, thus lowering the counter's probability. However, animatronic assassins sent by David Nix arrive to kill Casey and Frank, but she and Frank escape, meeting Athena in the woods outside of Frank's destroyed house. Frank resents Athena for lying to him about her true nature, but decides to help them get to Tomorrowland.

The trio then travel to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Frank explains that Gustave Eiffel, Jules Verne, Nikola Tesla, and Thomas Edison co-founded Plus Ultra, a secret society of futurists that created Tomorrowland in another dimension, free to make scientific breakthroughs without obstruction. The trio then use an antique rocket called the Spectacle, which is hidden underneath the Eiffel Tower, to get to Tomorrowland while avoiding more of Nix’s guards.

Upon arrival, they find Tomorrowland in a state of decay. David Nix, now Governor of Tomorrowland, arrives and greets them. They then travel to a tachyon machine called "The Monitor", a device originally invented by Frank, which accurately predicts worldwide catastrophes and devastation. Casey refuses to accept that the world will end and that she points out to Nix on why he can’t warn Earth to the point that what will happen will happen only on Earth so that Tomorrowland can survive. Casey then pointed out to Nix on why he couldn’t let anyone come to Tomorrowland, to the point he reveals that they would destroy Tomorrowland just like what they did to Earth, to the point that it causes the future to temporarily alter. While Frank convinces Dave to listen, he refuses and has Frank, Casey, and Athena arrested instead, intending to have the group leave Tomorrowland.

Whilst captured, a desperate Casey tells Athena on why she was given the pin on the first place, to the point she finds out the Monitor has a side effect; when it uses tachyons to obtain information about the future, it introduces a backfeed in their flow and that making it show all seems to be more likely for the world to end, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. As Casey tells Frank and Athena that they have to shut down the device to avert it, they are escorted to see Nix again, who intends to deport them to an unhabitable uncharted island where they’ll spend their last days on Earth. As they confront him, he still refuses to listen, revealing that he created the Monitor to broadcast the warning of the worlds end to humanity as a means to prevent the future, but they’ve embraced the events and gave in to what they saw in the media, making Nix more desperate to the point he soon gave up and revealed that he intends the apocalypse to soon happen, so he can rebuild a new world to his liking.

After his speech, he begins to send them to the island, but Frank refuses and a fight ensues between the two. Casey is then given the bomb by Athena who tells her to use it and destroy the device while she dealt with the robots. Whilst going on the elevator in an attempt to destroy the device, Casey sees visions of the future of her turning on the bomb, which she does and later the elevator abruptly coming down, which comes true due to Nix using his device on the arm whilst fighting Frank. The ensuing chaos resulted in Casey accidentally throwing the bomb on the portal of the uninhabited island on Earth, which results the ensuing explosion pinning Nix’s leg whilst escaping alongside Frank. Athena then sees a vision of the future where Frank is shot by David, and mortally jumps in the way of his attack, mortally wounding and sacrificing herself beyond repair. After making peace with Frank, Athena activates her self destruct sequence, destroying the machine as it falls on Nix, killing him while Casey flees the destruction. She then helped Frank recover after his jet pack is damaged and landed on the riverbend of Tomorrowland. Sitting in a nearby tree, the two decide to consider rebuilding Tomorrowland. Some time later, she and Frank begin to lead Tomorrowland, even recruiting Eddie and Nate to join them and creating a new generation of animatronics like Athena, whom they were addressing to in the film’s beginning. After telling their story to them, they are given pins, and the animatronic children set out to recruit new dreamers and thinkers for Tomorrowland.
