Castello is a character from the 2020 Disney+ original film The One and Only Ivan
Background[]
Castello serves as the security guard of the Big Top Mall. He works alongside Mack who is the owner of the circus with George who works as an animal caretaker. Most of the time, Castello is shown to follow orders in keeping the circus animals in their enclosure and stray dogs (such as Bob) out of the property. In spite of this, Castello also helps open and close the curtains during the performance, particularly during Ivan's act. After Mack fires him, Castello loses his job as a security guard after failing to get Bob out of Ivan's enclosure.
Role in the film[]
Castello is introduced when Mack shouts out his name, telling him to keep Bob, a stray dog, out of the Big Top Mall property which Mack tells him to keep everything under control in getting Bob out of Ivan's enclosure, much to Castello's shock. Later, Castello becomes aware of the arrival of Ruby the Baby Elephant who arrived from the Handley Brothers Circus to the Big Top Mall alongside Mack and George where Ruby gets housed in Stella's enclosure. After Ivan's act, Castello closes the curtains for Mack to present Ruby and her aunt Stella where she impresses everyone. The next day, Castello is seen working together with George in placing a banner advertising Ruby as one of the circus' main headliners. The following day after Stella's death, Castello watches Mack train Ruby to walk into the stage by herself just like what Stella did to which after Ruby feels exhausted, she sneezes onto Mack just before he returns to his office to get himself cleaned.
Later, when Mack notices Bob in Ivan's enclosure again, he summons Castello to get him out, warning him that if he does not capture the stray dog, he will be fired from his job as a security guard which Castello arms himself with a net to capture the stray dog. Back at the circus, Castello gets his net ready so that he can capture Bob, only for Bob to bite him which Castello chases him into Ivan's enclosure in a plan to catch him only for Ivan to blow a raspberry to trick him and cage him, similar to like what he did when he refused to draw a picture during a circus performance earlier just before Ivan plans to escape with the other animals into the wild, foiling Castello. He then calls Mack telling him that he is locked in Ivan's enclosure and then later notices that the animals have escaped, leading Mack to go after Ivan and the other animals in a plan to capture them and bring them back to the circus.
After Mack brings the other animals back to their enclosures, he tells George that he secretly fired Castello, resulting him to be fired from his duty as a security guard. It is unknown of what happened to Castello after he was fired from his job.

- At one point, Castello is seen playing the classic arcade game, Donkey Kong. While not explicitly mentioned in the film, this can imply that Donkey Kong is his favorite game.
