Castleton (also known as Magic Castle) is the primary setting of the Disney Magical World video game series, and is the hometown of the player's avatar, Mickey Mouse, and several of his friends. It acts as a hub for the player to transport to various worlds and locations throughout the series.

Description[]

Castleton is the home land and main hub of the Disney Magical World series. It serves as the home for the player and various Mickey Mouse characters, and several Disney characters also make appearances while visiting. The city's appearance is based off the real-life Magic Kingdom located in the Walt Disney World Resort.

Notable locations[]

  • Castle Town - The neighborhood that holds the homes for the player along with Mickey Mouse and his friends.
  • Castle Square - A section that houses the castle, Yen Sid's Tower, as well as the entrance to the castle vaults and the portals to Hawaii, the Hundred Acre Wood, Arendelle, the Dwarf Woodlands, Atlantica and Wonderland.
  • Castle Street - A luxurious plaza that hosts several shops and services, hot-air balloons also land here.
  • Café - A café owned by the player where they can make food and drinks for residents.
  • Daisy's Boutique - A shop owned by Daisy Duck where the player can trade materials and coins collected for outfits, Clarice also works there and lets the player recolor their purchased outfits.
  • Chip 'n Dale's Workshop - A shop owned by Chip and Dale where the player can bring the materials and coins they have collected for furniture.
  • McDuck's - A large department store owned by Scrooge McDuck that Huey, Dewey, and Louie also help out with. Players can purchase materials, seeds, clothing, and furniture, and stock changes daily.
  • Yen Sid's Tower - A tower where players can go to speak to Yen Sid and get their magic wands upgraded.
  • The Castle - A large magical castle where players can talk to the king and attend the ballroom.

Appearances[]

Disney Magical World[]

Castleton first appears in the life simulation game Disney Magical World as the main hub world for the player to access portals and places of interest. Compared to later installments, it is much smaller and hosts fewer stores and locations.

Disney Magical World 2[]

Castleton reappears in the game's sequel serving the same purpose as before. This time, Castleton is split into three sections rather than two and is larger in size.

Disney Magic Castle KiraKira Shiny Star[]

Castleton makes another appearance in the Japan only arcade spin-off title Disney Magic Castle KiraKira Shiny Star, although its appearance is much smaller and limited compared to past titles. The castle's ballroom reappears and serves as the main location for performing the title's rhythm minigame sequences.
