Biography[]
Cere Junda was the Padawan of Jedi Master Eno Cordova during the reign of the Galactic Republic. Later, Junda and Cordova were sent by the Jedi High Council to oversee an excavation of a temple located on the planet Ontotho, but in the process, they were caught in a battle between the Fylar Freedom Fighters and local security forces. During the course of the battle, Junda worked with the Fylar Freedom Fighters. She eventually became a Jedi Knight and took Trilla Suduri as her Padawan.
When Order 66 was issued, Junda and Suduri attempted to escape from the forces of the Galactic Empire while protecting a group of Jedi initiates. Captured and subjected to torture, Junda surrendered her Padawan to the Empire, leading to Suduri falling to the dark side of the Force and becoming the Inquisitor known as the "Second Sister". Though Junda managed to escape, she chose to repress her connection to the Force, having experienced the power of the dark side, as well as feeling burdened by guilt over Suduri's fate.
After years of living in seclusion, Junda rescued Cal Kestis on the planet Bracca, where her fallen apprentice attempted to kill the fugitive Jedi. Junda took it upon herself to mentor the former Padawan and complete his training, while striving to rebuild the Jedi Order. During their time together, she gave her old lightsaber to Kestis, who used it alongside his first master's lightsaber to create his own weapon.
In 9 BBY, Junda distanced herself from the crew of the Mantis, formed a Jedi hideout on the sacred moon of Jedha, and became a member of the Hidden Path, a clandestine network that sheltered Force-sensitives from the Empire.
Junda was also reunited with his former master, Eno Cordova, and they worked together to preserve the Jedi Archives. After being visited by Cal Kestis, Bode Akuna alerted the Empire about the hideout on Jedha. Junda died fighting Darth Vader before bidding farewell to Cal.
