Chad is a character who appears in the 2021 Disney+ original film Flora & Ulysses.
Background[]
Chad is a manager who works at Binders Keepers at the suburban community of Vancouver, Canada. He is shown to be rather strict to employees who work at the store, especially George, not tolerating any distractions he encounters such as when George faces Flora in certain situations; one such case was when she tried to warn him about Ulysses being a fugitive, leaving Chad worried that George is not doing his task that he is supposed to do.
In spite of this, he is shown to be curious of George's work upon staring at the artwork of a superhero he designed when he returned to work, making him curious about this. He also wears an orange button on his shirt which reads "Do you need help?" written on it if anyone wills to ask him for help.
Role in the film[]
Chad is first seen approaching George, telling him to place extended warranties on the printers being sold. George replies to him that he understands about selling the warranties, but not of how he controls time with an invisible remote, only for the conversation to interrupt when Flora talks to her father, just before telling him to get back to work. Chad later notices that George is distracted at work, which George resumes his work routine.
Later, Chad stares at the artwork of a superhero made by George last night where he explains to a fellow employee that he is curious of how he made this piece, telling him that he might pay. Chad later talks with his boss only to be interrupted when William and Flora approach George and warn him about Ulysses being treated as a fugitive, only for Chad to deny, telling him that he must help him. George explains to Chad that he quits and just after resigns, Chad's boss fires him, causing him to lose his job.
