"Chapter Seven: The Kribble Krabble Clause" is the seventh episode of the Disney+ series The Santa Clauses and aired November 8, 2023. It was written by Jack Burditt and directed by Jason Winer.

Synopsis[]

Scott names Cal the next Santa and looks to turn Christmas into a family business.

Plot[]

In 1307 A.D., Magnus Antas, the Mad Santa, and his gnome helper Olga escape from an uprising of sorts with Magnus declaring that he will return. 716 years later, Magnus has somehow been imprisoned in a nutcracker and is owned by Kris Moreno who runs a Santa themed theme park in Chicago, Illinois which is falling apart. That night, Scott and his family are making their Christmas deliveries and stop by Kris' house. He wakes up to see the snow globe and is happy with the gift, though Scott later reveals that the magic wears off after one week.

Back at the North Pole, Scott decides that he wants to make Christmas gift giving a family business. Carol decides that she wants to lead the E.L.F.S. due to its lack of action, primarily because of Gary whom Betty says is "incompetent and not well liked". Scott further suggests that his son Cal take over the family business after the revelation that he has powers. Later, they inform Sandra that she will be the "Keeper of Creatures" due to her ability to communicate with animals. The Calvins celebrate Cal's birthday and he uses his birthday candle wish to summon Riley to the North Pole, much to her surprise.

Carol explains that Cal might not be suitable for the job, but Scott thinks otherwise and is slightly concerned about him not having wiped Riley's mind. Betty and Noel converse about the recent events with the former believing that Scott is about to make some serious mistakes. She reasons that she could easily get him to turn back on it by having him believe that it was her idea. Noel discovers that Betty has been chosen to partake in the Kribble Krabble Clause, a clause for elves wherein they must spend time in the real world, with no exceptions. Betty has been trying to escape the clause, but the rest of the elves force her to go.

Ruby is impressed with Cal's life at the North Pole, but both learn that Sandra is starting to become annoyed at her ability to hear animals talk as they do nothing, but complain. Scott confronts Cal on Riley's knowledge of the North Pole and reluctantly allows her to keep her memories, though he does continue to monitor her. Carol starts work with Gary and becomes annoyed at his behavior. Betty informs Scott about the Kribble Krabble Clause and he fully supports it, telling her that she needs a break from work. Betty is forced to put Noel in charge, who admits that he is too incompetent to run things, and secretly puts Edie in charge. A going away celebration is put on for her and Scott puts forward his plans once she leaves.

Scott overhears Noel bring up Magnus Antas, but does not know who or what it is. Noel and Edie work together to hide any reference or mention of him in their archives, including the nutcracker that imprisoned him, only to learn that it is missing. Carol takes an interest in trying to solve the missing nutcracker, despite not knowing its significance. Noel reminds Edie that it only responds to North Pole magic. At the Santa Park, Kris is excited to show off the snow globe to his father, Alfonso, in the hopes of making up with him, but by the time he shows him, the week has passed and he disappointingly tells his son that he needs to shut down the park. Kris accidentally knocks down the snow globe and the nutcracker and they interact with each other.

Sandra continues to grow frustrated with her powers as Cal comes to talk with her. Sandra grows so frustrated she lets out a large magical energy burst from her hands that shocks them both. Magnus is released from his nutcracker as Kris encounters him. Magnus declares that he is the one true Santa and the one at the North Pole is a fraud.
