Charles Devereux, also known as Isambard Tulley, is a supporting character in the Disney+ series Renegade Nell. He is a disgraced socialite, who is a highway robber on the side.
Charles Devereux initially came from a shoemaking family, but his father's constant gambling debts pushed them to ruin. He then spent the next couple of years trying to raise Devereux family name back into prominence. Looking for ways to make money, he created the identity of Isambard Tulley, and proceeded to become a highway robber. He managed to pass himself off as a wealthy individual and even managed to betroth himself to the wealthy, yet significantly older Lady Eularia Moggerhanger. This lifestyle seemed to suffice him, that is until he ran into Nell Jackson who dragged him into a new journey.
Personality[]
Charles is a typical young, flamboyant, and foppish young man who is smug, witty, and carefree. Despite coming off as vain, he is actually very friendly and even helpful to those he feels need it. He retains some of these characteristics as Isambard Tulley, being ruthless, but not cruel. He is also easily impressed and very open-minded, showing great admiration towards Nell Jackson and her skills and even openly offered to work alongside her.

Charles is played by Frank Dillane, best known for portraying a young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Nick Clark in the Walking Dead franchise.
