Chaske Spencer is an Native-American actor, who, for Disney, appeared in Marvel's adaptations of Jessica Jones as Jace Montero and Echo as Henry "Black Crow" Lopez.
Spencer was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma but grew up in Montana and various towns in Idaho. He graduated from Clearwater Valley High School in Kooskia where he went by the name James Spencer. He enrolled at Lewis–Clark State College for a year while dealing with drug and alcohol addiction. He eventually dropped out to pursue his acting career.
He made his film debut as a young version of Eric Schweig's lead character in Skins. This was followed by further film roles in Dreamkeeper and the miniseries Into the West. He gained further prominence through his role as Sam Uley in The Twilight Saga films starting with New Moon. He also appeared in Shouting Secrets, Winter in the Blood, Desert Cathedral, Woman Walks Ahead, and Wild Indian. His television credits include Banshee, Sneaky Pete, Blindspot, and The English.
