"Chinese New Year" (also known as It's Chinese New Year!) is the sixth episode of the web series Mickey Go Local. It aired on January 23, 2020.
Synopsis[]
Huat ah! It’s the year of the Mouse. Mickey and Donald are ready to wow everyone with their Lion Dance but a second troupe appears. It’s a Lion Dance Off and who is the second lion? SURPRISE! Gong xi fai cai with lo hei for everyone!
Plot[]
It is Chinese New Year and Mickey and Donald are preparing for a lion dance across the streets of Chinatown. Seeing another lion costume, Mickey and Donald put on the red lion costume and compete with the green one to know who is better while Goofy prepares the lo hei for the festival. Seeing a scroll from a distance, the lion dancers compete against each other to know who is better. During a tough competition, Mickey and Donald attempt to grab the scroll but is saved by the green lion costume. Together, the two grab the scroll together. As Mickey and Donald take off their costume, the dancers in the green lion costume remove their costume and are revealed to be their sweethearts Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck, shocking the two. Thanking Minnie for rescuing him, Goofy gives the two the big platter. Mickey, Donald, Minnie, Daisy, and Goofy enjoy the lo hei feast and celebrate Chinese New Year.
Epilogue[]
Mickey and Donald (in the lion costume) perform an acrobatic trick with spinning plates on a unicycle, but the two stumble.
