Though there is no maximum height limit, this attraction is squarely targeted at young children. A rope and ladder course similar to the much larger Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at Disney California Adventure, lines are generally minimal and it can be a good way to burn off some excess energy in your children.
The attraction first opened as Chip 'n Dale Tree Slide and Acorn Crawl when Mickey's Toontown opened in January 1993. It functioned as a play area containing ropes, ladders, an "acorn" pit containing over 8,000 acorns, and a slide.
In 1998, the "Acorn" pit and slide were both removed from the attraction and so, would be renamed as Chip 'n Dale Treehouse. Although no information was given by Disney for the removal of the slide and acorn pit, it was said the slide's removal was after a kid broke their leg on a decorative acorn, while the acorn pit's removal was due to hygiene issues. Where the slide was is now boarded up, and the ball pit is still visible, but inaccessible and empty.
The attraction remained as was until it closed for what would be the final time on March 12, 2020. The attraction never reopened following the reopening of Disneyland in April 2021, and it was soon announced that the attraction would not survive the 2023 reimagining of Mickey's Toontown. The Treehouse was demolished in April 2022.
Tokyo Disneyland[]
The Tokyo Disneyland version of the attraction was known as Chip 'n Dale's Slide when it opened in April 1996. However, the slide was removed within four months due to minor injuries occurring on it, and so the attraction was renamed Chip 'n Dale's Treehouse shortly afterwards.
