Chon Wang is the protagonist of the Touchstone Pictures films Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights. He is a former soldier from China who travels to America and teams up with an outlaw, becoming a crime fighter in the process.
Background[]
Personality[]
Chon Wang is a very dedicated, mature, and responsible person, almost to a fault. While he can be very loyal to service, this causes him to sometimes be too rigid. He makes up for this by showing a more playful and lighthearted side to himself. Once he sets his sights on a goal, it is difficult to pull him away from it. He is committed to doing what is right and believes in a strong sense of justice.
Trivia[]
- Chon Wang is, of course, named after famous Western actor John Wayne, which Roy calls a "terrible cowboy name".
- Chon tells Roy that he is not from Shanghai. This is true for Jackie Chan as well who hails from Hong Kong.
