Christine Palmer is a Marvel Comics character who appears in Doctor Strange and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. She is a surgeon who held romantic feelings towards her colleague Stephen Strange, but ended her relationship with him after his mental breakdown and losses. However, she becomes close to Stephen again when he returns from his training and apologizes to her for his arrogance. Although they don't reconcile romantically, he still has feelings for her and they stay good friends.
Christine Palmer was created by Stan Lee and Al Hartley.

Doctor Strange
Christine Palmer appears in this movie as a co-worker and ex-girlfriend to the protagonist, Stephen Strange. It is revealed they broke up because of his argent personality and she couldn't love him for "holding the knife". Christine visits and offers to help Stephen after his car accident, but refuses after a heated argument with him. One year later, Christine is visited by Stephen again who has returned from Kamar-Taj and is dying from his wounds. She is shocked to see Strange's astral form and is able to save his life. Later that same day, Christine is visited by Strange once more who asks her to operate on the Ancient One, but she is unable to save her life. Later, although they do not reconcile, Strange and Palmer are able to rekindle their friendship.
Avengers: Infinity War & Avengers: Endgame
In 2018, Christine survives the Blip and meets a man named Charlie within the five years after the events. By 2023, Christine is engaged to Charlie.
What If...?
Season 1
Christine appears in "What If... Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?" as Stephen Strange's girlfriend. Stephen is about to pick up Christine for a night out at the dinner party. But a tragedy happened when she dies in a fatal car crash. Her death has become a cataclysm for Strange. Strange spends years trying to bring Christine back and eventually does, only for his universe to be destroyed as a result. Strange is left heartbroken and guilt-ridden until The Watcher asks him to be part of the Guardians of the Multiverse.
Season 2
Another alternate, non-verbal Christine Palmer appears in "What if... Strange Supreme Intervened?", in the end. As Strange Supreme dies, he is able to recreate another universe where Christine is alive, but it is a world where Stephen Strange is never born into, therefore this Christine Palmer never met a version of him.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Christine is revealed to have survived the Blip and is getting married in 2024 to a man named Charlie. Palmer invites Strange to her wedding, who is happy for Christine, but does admit that he wishes he had been different. Christine tells Stephen things never would have worked out for them because "he had to be the one to hold the knife". Palmer leaves to be with her new husband, until their reception is interrupted by a monster. Christine and Charlie watch as Stephen defeats the creature.
When Doctor Strange and America Chavez end up in Earth-838, he meets an alternate version of Christine who works at the Baxter Building. According to 838 Christine, her universe's Stephen died after he became corrupted by the power of the Darkhold and was killed by the Illuminati. This Christine agrees to work with both Strange and Chavez in order to keep her safe from the Scarlet Witch who wants to steal Chavez's powers. Christine and Strange end up in another universe, which is covered in bones and is falling due to this other version of Strange destroyed his world after his Christine married someone else. 838 Christine stays with 616 Stephen as he is forced to dreamwalk into the corpse of an alternate version of himself that traveled to Earth-616 with Chavez.
After Wanda dies from destroying all copies of the Darkhold across the Multiverse, 616 Stephen and 838 Christine share a moment before they are sent back to their own respective universes. She tells him she wishes to see his world, but she must go home. Stephen takes this as a chance to tell Christine he loves her in every universe, which brings Christine to tears. She encourages him to face his fears and they part ways back to their own universes.
Trivia
- In Doctor Strange, when Christine is using the defibrillator, she can be seen wearing a pair of Nike Zoom Pegasus 32 sneakers.
- In the original comics, she had absolutely no affiliation or association with Dr. Strange during his career as a neurosurgeon before his accident and after he became the Sorcerer Supreme.
