Clod is a minor character in the 2023 Disney/Pixar animated feature film Elemental. He is best described as a street-smart earth kid.

Personality[]
Throughout the movie, Clod seemed to be very lovesick regarding Ember as he would often flirt with her and attempt to give her a flower he grew from his armpits. At the end, when Ember began dating Wade Ripple, Clod seemed to have let his crush go as he now gains a crush on a fire girl that is his age.
Physical appearance[]
Clod is a small boy made of dirt with a big stone as a nose. He has some grass on top of his head as hair and has brown eyes. He wears a camo vest and dark shoes with yellow shoelaces.
Role in the film[]
Clod first appears outside The Fireplace, greeting Ember Lumen as she leaves to make deliveries. Clod asks her on a date and offers her a flower grown from his armpit, but she rejects him on the belief "elements cannot mix" and due to Element City being built for fire people. Clod continues to flirt with Ember, asking if it would take an "act of Clod" to get her to leave Firetown, but she ignores him and leaves to do her deliveries.
Later, Clod meets up with Ember again as she's leaving to go on a secret date with Wade Ripple. He gives a new flower grown from his armpit which she reluctantly takes. However, the flower explodes when Ember touches it, causing Clod to get covered in soot. Ember apologizes to him and leaves to attend her date with Wade.
Months later, after Firetown is rebuilt from a flood, Clod is seen at the Fireplace, talking with an unnamed fire young girl. They have formed a relationship together now with Clod growing flowers from his armpit, calling her his "queen". The young fire girl, who's wearing gloves, accepts Clod's flowers and the two play together by running around in the shop. Clod then greets Ember and Wade when they arrive at the shop before they leave the city for Ember's glassmaking internship.
In the credits, it is shown that Clod and his girlfriend are shown emerging from two pots where Clod grows lots of flowers in both his armpits before he and his girlfriend ride on Ember's motorcycle together. Clod and his girlfriend are seen riding on a boat together at a fast speed across Mineral Lake, passing by Ember's parents.
Trivia[]
- So far, Clod is the only Earth element, let alone the only resident of Element City, who wears some sort of footwear.
- He is also the only known non-fire element to live in Firetown.
- According to Anna Scott, a character designer for Elemental, Clod's head and nose are shaped like hearts in order to reflect his identity of having a crush on Ember.[citation needed]
- Clod's name comes from the word "clod", a term that refers to a lump of earth or clay. "Clod" is also derived from the Gaelic name "Leod".
- In the Latin Spanish version, his name is "Loduardo", a pun on "lodo" (meaning "mud" in Spanish) and "Eduardo" (a given name).
