Com is the deuteragonist of the Disney+/Hulu original anime miniseries Phoenix: Eden17.
Background[]
Personality[]
Like many children his age, Com is energetic and confident of his abilities, despite clearly not being used to the situations around him. He is prone to being clumsy, but maintains a level head in difficult times. He is also very selfless, insisting to Romi that should they run out of food, that she could eat him. Com is determined to see things through and realizes the sacrifices he must make in order to achieve his, or other people's, goals. He is also very emotional and hates being looked down upon, as he wants others to see that he is capable and smart enough to understand the world, and universe, around him.
Physical appearance[]
Com is a very small child with pale skin and short curly green hair. He has a Y shaped antennae on his head that apparently acts as both his eyes and ears, as he does not possess either of these (he does have eyelashes though). He wears what appears to be a white undershirt, light blue vest, red bow tie, brown belt, and white underwear like pants. His arms and legs are completely bare.
Powers and abilities[]
Due to not having traditional eyes and ears, Com has antennae that allows him to do these things for him. He and his fellow Moopy descendants, instead sense the area around them and navigate this way. This allows him to see in rooms that are completely dark as well. Com also has psychic powers and can apparently see images in other people's minds, allowing him to navigate a stone ark through space based on this alone. He claims that he can turn into a flower, though this is never shown.
Trivia[]
- In the original manga, Com acted more of the protagonist of the story, after Romi of course. He also has a direct interaction with the Phoenix, something not shown in the anime.
- While Com is a boy, his voice actor is a young girl, a fairly common practice in voice acting.
